Visa fullständig version : French people create their own Pirate Party !

Hie all, dear swedish friends.

We, French Internauts, presently observe the confiscation, by a few partisan and powerful groups, of the French Internet Domain, therefore leading to a prejudice for the vast majority of Internauts.

With the upcoming promulgation of the law about Author Rights - EUCD - , these rights being now seen as the ennemy of the network and of the internauts, we demand the abrogation of the whole set of laws that define intellectual property on the French soil and encourage the internauts to forget these notions in their everyday lives.

The party also demands the legalisation of P2P networks for non-lucrative use as a natural consequence of the suppression of the author right.

The French Pirate Party plan 6 major reforms :

1 - > Total and unlimited liberty of speech

2 - > The end of the author rights as they exist in 2006 (and we propose to replace it by a new system wich garanty equality between artist & public rights).

3 - > The right to browse anonimously on Internet

4 - > The legalization of P2P Networks when used in a non-lucrative purpose

5 - > The suppression of all taxes on empty hardware

6 - > Free Internet access to all

I hope that we will give us all good advice to progress in our fight in France where our laws are really hard ...(we are risking to be purchased in front of a court only with this sites).

Thanks to have open the way to more liberty on the web !

Hi !

I wish just to tell you about the situation here in France.

Finally, our politicians adopted a DMCA-like law called DADVSI.

- In a near future, French ISPs will have to set up P2P filters

- Reverse-engineering of DRMs will be forbidden and publishing of this kind of informations will be punished (30 000 Euros).

- All software that allows illegal file-sharing will be forbidden (will they ban mail clients? or web servers?) and its programmers will be punished (300 000 Euros)

- Terrestrial TV stations (especially TF1) will be allowed to use music extracts for free

- Actually, the most of open source Linux distributions will be forbidden (because they contains DeCSS code)

Worst is that French medias didn't inform the population about this law.

Yes, I'm speaking about France, not about China nor North Korea !
