Visa fullständig version : Examples of Principles Applicability

Hello.

My name is Yury and I'm from Russia.

I've red http://www.piratpartiet.se/the_pirate_party and still can't get the point.

Could anyone provide usecases/examples of law changes? Maybe some URL with examples already provided?

I mean real examples what expected to be acceptable and what is bad according to the laws you guys want to make work.

The quick example:

If I buy a CD, grab it and share (for free) in my local network -- is it acceptable?

Assume CD is most recent album of some hot singer (so producers really want to make money from sales).

It would be great if someone answers this question and provides other good/bad examples.

Thanks!

Hi Yury,

welcome to the forum.

Yes, we want that to be legalised. We want to get copyright limited to a short period and only be relevant to commercial enterprises.

What we want to accomplish is to get a situation were you can do pretty much want you want with the CD you bought except claiming that you are the singer (unless you are of course) or start to sell copies. We also want to limit the time period for copyright to a number of years (instead of todays limit of lifetime for the creator + 75 years) so that culture pass into the public domain quicker.

There is btw a russian Pirate party, which you can find at http://pirateparty.ru/ though I have no idea what that page says, as I never have gotten around to learning russian. Should not be a problem for you though.
